How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will usually start with a low dose and may increase it by 18 mg each week, aiming for the lowest effective dose.

Method

Take Methylphenidate Sandoz once a day in the morning with water. Swallow the tablet whole; do not chew, split, or crush it. It can be taken with or without food.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 54 mg.

  • Stomach ache or feeling sick (nausea, vomiting)
  • Dry mouth
  • Loss of appetite
  • Dizziness
  • Fast heartbeat
  • Joint pain
  • Blurred vision
  • Sweating more than usual
  • Weight loss
  • Fever
  • Rash or itching
RARE
  • Uneven heartbeats (palpitations)
  • Sudden mood changes or personality changes
  • Thoughts of harming oneself
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not real (psychosis)
  • Uncontrolled body movements or speech (tics)
  • Seizures (fits)
  • Severe allergic reaction with swelling or breathing difficulties
  • Heart attack or sudden death
  • Stroke or problems with blood vessels in the brain
  • Unexpected, long-lasting, and painful erections
  • Very high fever
  • Sudden high blood pressure
  • Changes in blood cell counts (making you prone to infections or bleeding)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if your child is allergic to methylphenidate or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if your child has serious heart problems or blood vessel issues in the brain, like a stroke.
  • Do not use if your child has serious mental health problems, such as psychosis, schizophrenia, severe depression, or thoughts of harming themselves.
  • Do not use if your child has taken certain depression medicines called MAO inhibitors in the last 14 days.
  • If your child has an unexpected, painful, and long-lasting erection (over 2 hours), seek medical help right away.

  • This medicine may cause positive results on drug tests, including sports doping tests.
  • Do not drink alcohol while taking this medicine, as it can worsen side effects.
  • This medicine may cause dizziness, trouble focusing, or blurred vision, which can be dangerous when driving, cycling, or using machines.
