Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, indigestion
  • Inflammation and sores in the mouth and throat
  • Increased liver enzyme levels
  • Shingles (Herpes zoster)
  • Blood effects, such as anemia, low white blood cell count, or low platelet count
  • Fatigue, headache, drowsiness
  • Dry cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever

  • Rash, skin redness, and itching
RARE
  • Lack of all blood cells (pancytopenia), missing white blood cells (agranulocytosis)
  • Inflammation of blood vessels
  • Severe allergic reactions and allergic blood vessel inflammation
  • Dizziness, confusion, depression
  • Seizures, brain disease (encephalopathy)
  • Lymphoma (lymph node cancer)
  • Lung scarring (pulmonary fibrosis)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to methotrexate or any other ingredient in it.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver disease, kidney disease, blood disorders, or a serious infection like tuberculosis or HIV.
  • Do not use if you have sores in your mouth, throat, stomach, or intestines.
  • Do not use if you are breastfeeding.
  • Do not use if you have increased alcohol consumption.

  • Do not receive live vaccines during treatment with Methotrexat Accord.
  • This medicine can lower your body's ability to fight infections and increase your risk of bleeding.
  • If you cough up or spit blood, contact your doctor immediately.
  • This medicine can temporarily affect sperm and egg production, possibly leading to infertility. Discuss sperm banking options before treatment if you are male.
  • If you are a woman, avoid getting pregnant during treatment and for at least six months after treatment ends, as this medicine can cause birth defects and miscarriage. Use effective contraception.
  • If you are a man, avoid making a woman pregnant during treatment and for at least three months after treatment ends.
  • This medicine can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Avoid strong sun exposure and do not use sunbeds without doctor's advice.
