How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 10–30 mg per day, slowly increased by your doctor until your symptoms are controlled. The typical maintenance dose is 60–120 mg per day.

  • Sleep apnea (breathing stops during sleep)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to methadone hydrochloride or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have used certain antidepressant medicines (MAO inhibitors) in the last two weeks.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have breathing difficulties or asthma attacks.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney, or heart problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had a head injury or high pressure in your brain.

  • This medicine must not be given to children, as even small doses can cause poisoning.
  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as they can cause serious side effects.
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery until your medication dose is stable, as it can affect your ability.
  • If you are also taking antidepressants, watch for symptoms like confusion, fast heart rate, fever, or muscle stiffness, and contact your doctor.
