How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 10-30 mg per day. The dose is slowly increased until you don't have withdrawal symptoms or overdose signs. The typical daily dose is 60-120 mg.

Take this medicine by mouth exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Never inject this medicine, as it can cause serious harm or even death.

  • Swollen legs

  • Severe fluid retention in the body (edema)
  • Biliary spasm (cramping pain in the abdomen)
  • Redness of the face
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Difficulty getting or keeping an erection

  • Feeling your heart beat (palpitations)
  • Low levels of potassium or magnesium in the blood
  • Low platelet count in the blood

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to methadone or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have used certain depression medicines (MAO inhibitors) in the last two weeks.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have severe asthma or other serious breathing or lung problems.
  • Do not give this medicine to children, as it can be very dangerous for them.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, as this medicine can affect your heart rhythm.
