How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the correct dose and how often to take Metadon dne pharma, as it varies for each person.

Method

Take the tablets by mouth; do not inject them. Injecting this medicine can cause severe and lasting harm, and may even be deadly.

Important

Do not take more than the dose your doctor has prescribed. Never change your dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor.

RARE
  • Heart problems, such as changes in the heart's electrical activity (ECG), especially in patients with risk factors or on high doses.
  • Low blood pressure and fainting.

  • Feeling of extreme happiness (euphoria), reported at high doses in tolerant patients.
  • Unease or low mood (dysphoria).
  • Seeing or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations).
  • Restlessness or agitation.
  • Feeling confused about time and place (disorientation).
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia).
  • Loss of appetite.
  • Seizures or convulsions.
  • Headache.
  • Severe breathing problems (respiratory depression).
  • Spasms in the bile ducts (gallbladder spasms).
  • Hives, rash, and itching.
  • Kidney spasms; reduced urine output.
  • Weakness.
  • Swelling.
  • Enlarged breasts and reduced fertility in men, decreased sex drive and/or ability due to low sex hormone levels after long-term use.
  • Spontaneous milk discharge from breasts in women due to abnormally high prolactin levels.
  • Low blood sugar.
  • Sleep apnea (breathing pauses during sleep).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to methadone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are taking or have taken MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression) within the last two weeks.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have severe breathing difficulties, bluish or purplish skin, or during an asthma attack.
  • Do not take this medicine if you have or suspect you have a blocked bowel.
  • Do not use other opioid-blocking medicines during this treatment, except in cases of overdose, as they can reverse the effects of Metadon dne pharma.

  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can cause serious side effects or change how the medicine works.
  • Metadon dne pharma is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years. Keep the medicine in a safe place, out of reach of children, to prevent accidental poisoning.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery at the start of treatment, as the medicine can severely affect coordination. Talk to your doctor about when it is safe to drive or use machines again.
  • This medicine can cause dependence. If you feel you need more of it than prescribed, or use it for other reasons, talk to your doctor. Do not stop suddenly, as this can cause withdrawal symptoms like sleeplessness, runny nose, tearing, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and pain.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, a slow heartbeat, or are taking medicines for irregular heart rhythms, especially at high doses, as methadone can affect your heart's electrical signals.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant, as methadone can affect the fetus and nursing infant.
  • Tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure or blood loss.
  • Tell your doctor if you have an enlarged prostate or difficulty urinating.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had a head injury or increased pressure in your brain, which can cause a severe headache.
  • Tell your doctor if you have adrenal or thyroid gland problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), seizures, or a specific type of muscle weakness called myasthenia gravis.
  • Tell your doctor if you are starting or stopping antiretroviral treatment (HIV medication).
  • Methadone can cause breathing pauses during sleep (sleep apnea). If you or someone else notices breathing pauses during sleep, daytime sleepiness, or waking up gasping for air, tell your doctor. Your doctor may consider lowering your dose.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines that make you sleepy or calm (e.g., alcohol, sleeping pills, strong pain relievers, certain antidepressants, gabapentin, or pregabalin), as combining them with methadone can be life-threatening and cause severe drowsiness or breathing problems.
