How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take. For opioid dependence, you might start with 10-30 mg daily, and later take 60-120 mg daily. For severe pain, you might start with 5 mg 1-3 times daily, and your dose can be slowly increased.

Method

Take Metadon Abcur tablets by mouth. Do not inject them.

Important

For opioid dependence, do not take more than 150 mg per day. For severe pain, do not take more than 100 mg per day.

  • Fainting (passing out)
  • Itchy skin
  • Bumps on the skin (hives)

  • Trouble emptying your bladder
  • Trouble getting or keeping an erection

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to methadone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have used MAO inhibitors (medicines for depression or Parkinson's disease) in the last two weeks.
  • Do not take if you have severe breathing problems, like very slow breathing or sudden airway issues.
  • This medicine should not be given to children.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have sudden asthma attacks.
