Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose and how long you need to take it, based on your individual needs.

Method

This medicine is given as an injection under the skin or into a muscle. Your doctor or nurse can show you how to give yourself the injection.

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache
  • Bloating or swollen stomach
  • Abdominal pain or discomfort
  • Pelvic pain
  • Back pain
  • Feeling of pressure or heaviness
  • Breast pain
  • Dizziness
  • Hot flashes
  • Thirst
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • General feeling of illness
  • Injection site reactions (e.g., pain, inflammation)
  • Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS), with symptoms such as ovarian cysts, lower abdominal pain, thirst, nausea, sometimes vomiting, small amounts of concentrated urine, and weight gain.
RARE
  • Ovarian torsion (a painful condition where the ovary twists)
  • Thromboembolism (a blood clot that can block a blood vessel)

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Meriofert Set if you have ovarian cysts (non-hormonal), unexplained bleeding, ovarian, uterine, or breast cancer, or a brain tumor.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have early menopause, reproductive organ malformations, or uterine tumors that prevent a normal pregnancy.
  • If you are allergic to menotropin or any other ingredient.
  • Treatment can increase the risk of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS). Tell your doctor if you experience abdominal pain, nausea, or weight gain.
  • There is an increased risk of blood clots with this treatment. Tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots or if you are overweight.
