Menisy tablets contain betahistine, which helps treat symptoms of Meniere's disease, such as dizziness, ringing in the ears, and hearing loss, by improving blood flow in the inner ear.

How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose. Usually, the starting dose is 16 mg three times a day. The maintenance dose is 24–48 mg per day, divided into 2-3 doses.

Method

Swallow the tablets with water. Take them with or after food to help avoid stomach upset. Try to take your doses at the same time each day.

Important

Do not take more than 48 mg per day, unless your doctor has told you otherwise.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea or vomiting.
  • Stomach problems, such as stomach pain, bloating, or indigestion.
  • Headache.
RARE
  • Red or bumpy rash, or itchy, inflamed skin.
  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or neck.
  • Sudden drop in blood pressure.
  • Fainting.
  • Difficulty breathing.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Menisy if you are allergic to betahistine or any other ingredient in the medicine.
  • Do not use Menisy if you have an adrenal gland tumor (phaeochromocytoma).
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had a stomach ulcer, as Menisy can cause stomach problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma, allergic rhinitis, or hives, as Menisy may worsen your symptoms.
  • Tell your doctor if you have low blood pressure.

  • Menisy is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
  • If you are pregnant, do not take Menisy without first talking to your doctor.
  • Do not breastfeed during Menisy treatment unless your doctor has given permission.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking antihistamines or MAO inhibitors (antidepressants), as they can affect how Menisy works.
  • If you experience severe allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or breathing difficulties, stop taking the medicine immediately and contact a doctor.
