How to Use

Dosage

Start with half a 10 mg tablet once daily for the first week. The dose is then gradually increased, with the usual dose being two 10 mg tablets (20 mg total) once daily from the fourth week onwards.

Method

Take the tablets by mouth once daily, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow them with a little water. You can take them with or without food.

  • Epileptic seizures
  • Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
  • Inflammation of the liver (hepatitis)
  • Psychotic reactions

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to memantine or any other ingredients.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have had epileptic seizures.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have recently had a heart attack, or if you have uncontrolled heart failure or high blood pressure.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • Your doctor may need to adjust your dose if you have certain kidney conditions or severe urinary tract infections.

  • Avoid taking this medicine at the same time as amantadine, ketamine, dextromethorphan, or other NMDA-antagonists.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years.
  • Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
  • This medicine may affect your reaction time, so driving or using machines is not recommended.

Category C
