How to Use

Dosage

The recommended daily maintenance dose for adults and elderly patients is 20 mg. The dose is gradually increased over four weeks to reduce side effects.

Method

Take Memantin Orion by mouth once a day. Swallow the tablets with water. You can take them with or without food, but take them at the same time each day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to memantine hydrochloride or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had epileptic seizures.
  • Tell your doctor if you recently had a heart attack, or have heart failure or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • This medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years.
  • Avoid taking this medicine with amantadine, ketamine, dextromethorphan, or other NMDA antagonists.
