Mellozzan contains melatonin, a hormone that helps regulate the body's natural sleep-wake cycle, and is used to treat insomnia in children and adolescents aged 6-17 with ADHD when other sleep routines are not enough.

How to Use

Dosage

Start with 0.5–2 mg, 30–60 minutes before bedtime. Your doctor may adjust the dose if needed to find the most suitable dose for your child.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth. You can crush the tablet and mix it with water before taking it.

Important

Maximum of 5 mg per day, regardless of age.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Mellozzan if you are allergic to melatonin or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • If you have diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance, this medicine may increase your blood sugar levels. Avoid eating 2 hours before and 2 hours after taking Mellozzan.
  • Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have an autoimmune disease (a condition where your body's own immune system attacks itself).
  • If you have epilepsy, as melatonin may increase the frequency of seizures.

  • Women who can become pregnant must use effective contraception during Mellozzan treatment.
  • Smoking can make Mellozzan less effective.
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 6 years old.
  • Do not drink alcohol before, during, or after taking Mellozzan, as it can reduce the effect of melatonin.
  • Mellozzan can cause drowsiness. If you feel sleepy, do not drive or operate machinery.
