How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 0.5–2 mg, taken 30–60 minutes before bedtime.

Method

Take the tablet by mouth. You can crush the tablet and mix it with water.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 5 mg for all ages.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Mellozzan if you are allergic to melatonin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have diabetes or blood sugar problems, as this medicine might increase your blood sugar.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have an autoimmune disease (where your body's immune system attacks itself).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have epilepsy, as melatonin might increase seizures.

  • If you are a woman who can become pregnant, you must use birth control during Mellozzan treatment.
  • Smoking can make Mellozzan less effective.
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 6 years old.
  • Do not drink alcohol before, during, or after taking Mellozzan, as it can reduce its effect.
  • Mellozzan can make you feel sleepy. If so, do not drive, cycle, or use machines.
  • If you have a severe allergic reaction (like itching, trouble breathing, swelling of the face, mouth, or tongue) or chest pain, stop taking Mellozzan and call a doctor right away.
