How to Use

Dosage

Adults and elderly usually take one tablet each day for up to 5 days. If one tablet isn't enough, you can take two tablets the next evening.

Method

Take the first dose at your normal bedtime after arriving at your destination. On other days, take it at your usual bedtime. Do not take tablets before 8 PM or after 4 AM. Swallow tablets whole with water or another drink. Do not eat for 2 hours before or after taking the medicine. If you have diabetes, wait at least 3 hours after a meal before taking it.

Important

Do not take more than 2 tablets (6 mg) in one day.

  • High levels of certain fat molecules (triglycerides) in blood

  • Memory impairment, restless legs syndrome, tingling and numbness
  • Watery eyes
  • Hot flashes
  • Vomiting, flatulence, increased saliva, bad breath, stomach lining inflammation
  • Nail disorder
  • Joint inflammation (arthritis), muscle spasms
  • Frequent urination
  • Prolonged and possibly painful erection, prostate inflammation
  • Thirst
  • Abnormal blood electrolyte levels
  • Severe allergic reaction leading to swelling of the tongue or mouth lining
  • Hypersensitivity reactions
  • High blood sugar levels
  • Milk discharge from breasts (also in men)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to melatonin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have seizures (epilepsy), as melatonin may make them happen more often.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have an autoimmune disease (where your body's immune system attacks its own parts).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have diabetes or high blood sugar, as this medicine can raise blood sugar levels. Avoid taking it within 2 hours before and 3 hours after meals if you have diabetes.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have moderate to severe liver or kidney problems.

  • Talk to your doctor if you smoke, as smoking can make the medicine less effective.
  • Talk to your doctor if you have high blood pressure and are taking medication for it, as melatonin might reduce the benefits of your blood pressure medicine.
  • This medicine can make you sleepy. Be careful if you feel drowsy, as it can affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
  • This medicine is not for children or adolescents aged 0-18 years.
  • Do not drink alcohol with this medicine, as it can make sleep worse and may increase drowsiness.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have children. Talk to your doctor if you are unsure.
