How to Use

Dosage

Method

Take the tablets exactly as prescribed by your doctor. For specific conditions, you might take it once daily following a specific schedule (e.g., 6 tablets on day 1, reducing to 1 tablet on day 6), or for long-term treatment, a double dose every other morning.

The maximum daily dose is determined by your doctor based on your condition, aiming for the lowest effective dose. It can range from 4 mg to 1000 mg daily in specific cases.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • More infections or serious allergic reactions.
  • Weight changes, round face, high blood sugar, or fluid retention.
  • Mood changes (like depression or anxiety), confusion, sleep problems, or headaches.
  • Blurred vision, cataracts, glaucoma, or other eye issues.
  • Stomach ulcers, bleeding, pancreatitis, abdominal pain, or diarrhea.
  • Muscle weakness or pain, bone loss, thin skin, or slow growth in children.
  • High blood pressure, blood clots, irregular periods, or poor wound healing.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Medrol if you are allergic to methylprednisolone, any other ingredient in this medicine, or if you have a fungal infection.
  • Always tell your doctor about your health history, especially if you have diabetes, thyroid issues, heart problems, high blood pressure, stomach ulcers, or bone loss.
  • Medrol can weaken your immune system, making you more vulnerable to infections. Your doctor will monitor you closely.
  • If you experience severe mood changes, muscle weakness, confusion, or blurred vision, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Avoid grapefruit juice. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or need a vaccination. Medrol also contains lactose and sucrose.
