How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will set your exact dose. For most adults, a common daily dose for long-term treatment is 100-200 micrograms.

Method

Take one dose orally once a day in the morning, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, with a small amount of water.

Important

The maximum daily dose can be up to 300 micrograms for specific conditions, but follow your doctor's instructions carefully.

  • Redness or warmth in the face

  • Feeling sick (vomiting)

  • Trouble sleeping
  • Sweating a lot
  • Losing weight
  • Diarrhea
RARE
  • Skin rash
  • Hives (itchy red bumps on skin)
  • Swelling of the face or throat (angioedema)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to levothyroxine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have untreated problems with your adrenal or pituitary glands, or an uncontrolled overactive thyroid.
  • Do not take if you have an acute heart condition, such as a recent heart attack or heart inflammation.
  • If you are pregnant, do not use this medicine with other drugs that block thyroid function.
  • This medicine is not for weight loss.
