How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your exact dose based on your condition and test results. A common daily dose is 75–200 micrograms.

Method

Take one dose by mouth once a day in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, with a small amount of liquid, like half a glass of water.

Important

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose. Do not exceed it as it can cause serious side effects.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to levothyroxine or any other ingredients.
  • Do not take if you have an untreated overactive thyroid, adrenal or pituitary gland problem, or acute heart disease (e.g., a recent heart attack).
  • Talk to your doctor if you have heart problems (e.g., angina, heart failure, high blood pressure), as these need to be controlled before starting this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine for weight loss. Taking too much can cause serious, life-threatening side effects.
  • Tell your doctor or lab staff if you are taking biotin, as it can affect your thyroid hormone blood test results.
