How to Use

Dosage

For adults and teens over 14: Take 10 ml of the 0.8 mg/ml solution or 5 ml of the 1.6 mg/ml solution, usually three times a day.

Method

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist tells you. Use the provided measuring cup to get the right amount and clean it after each use. Do not use for more than 5 days without talking to your doctor.

Important

Do not take more than 60 ml of the 0.8 mg/ml solution or 30 ml of the 1.6 mg/ml solution in one day (for adults, split into three doses).

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Diarrhea
  • Throwing up (vomiting)
  • Feeling sick (nausea)
  • Pain in the upper stomach
  • Allergic reactions like itching or hives
  • Skin rash
  • Temporary increase in liver test results
  • Severe allergic reaction causing swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat (angioedema), and trouble breathing (anaphylactic shock)
  • Very serious skin reactions with widespread rash, redness, blistering, and peeling skin (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis)
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing (bronchospasm)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to bromhexine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • If you have a problem with digesting certain sugars (fructose intolerance), do not take this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have ever had stomach or gut ulcers.
  • Stop taking Medipekt and get medical help right away if you get a serious skin rash, especially with blisters or sores in your mouth, eyes, nose, or genitals. These can be signs of very serious reactions.
  • Do not use for more than 5 days unless your doctor tells you to, as long-term use can keep mucus forming.

  • Children under 6 years should only use Medipekt if a doctor prescribes it. Medipekt 1.6 mg/ml is not for children under 2 years.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • If your symptoms do not get better quickly or if they get worse after 5 days, contact your doctor.
