Madopar helps to treat Parkinson's disease by increasing dopamine levels in the brain, reducing symptoms but not curing the underlying dopamine deficiency.
The dosage is individual and depends on your symptoms and response to the medicine. Your doctor will determine the daily dose and frequency.
Take Madopar half an hour before meals or one hour after meals. Swallow tablets whole, or dissolve the dispersible tablet in water before taking. Depot capsules should be swallowed whole with plenty of liquid.
Your doctor will adjust the dose gradually until the right dose is reached.
Suitable for older adults. Consider potential interactions especially with antipsychotics and metoclopramide. (updated 6.10.2025)
