How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the usual dose is 40–200 MBq. For children under 18, the dose depends on their weight.

Method

This medicine is given as a single injection into a vein. The imaging can be done any time after you receive the injection.

Important

You will receive a single, carefully measured dose; an overdose is unlikely.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Hives, chills, fever, nausea, flushed face, sweating, problems with heart and circulation (changes in breathing, pulse, blood pressure, collapse), and local reactions at the injection site (redness, swelling, itching).
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, including life-threatening shock, which may not appear immediately.
  • Exposure to a small amount of radiation carries a very low risk of cancer and genetic changes.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to human albumin or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have severe high blood pressure in your lungs (severe pulmonary hypertension).
  • Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure in your lungs, breathing problems, a heart defect, kidney or liver disease, or if you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
  • Before receiving this medicine, drink plenty of water to urinate frequently in the first few hours after the procedure to help remove radioactive traces from your body.
  • After receiving the injection, avoid close contact with small children and pregnant women for the first 12 hours.
