How to Use

Dosage

The dose, tailored for you and your condition, is usually between 150 mg and 600 mg per day.

Method

Take the capsules whole with water, either two or three times a day, as your doctor tells you. If twice a day, take one in the morning and one in the evening. If three times a day, take one in the morning, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.

Important

Do not exceed 600 mg per day.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to pregabalin or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • If you experience swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, or a widespread rash, contact your doctor immediately as these may be signs of a serious allergic reaction.
  • Serious skin rashes, such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, have been reported. Stop taking this medicine and seek medical help right away if you notice any severe skin reactions.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness and drowsiness, which may increase the risk of falls, especially in older people. Be careful until you know how it affects you.
  • If you notice any changes in your vision, such as blurred vision or loss of vision, tell your doctor right away.

  • If you have diabetes and gain weight while taking this medicine, your diabetes medication may need to be adjusted.
  • Tell your doctor if you have had heart problems, as heart failure has been reported in some patients.
  • If you notice a decrease in urination during treatment, tell your doctor as kidney problems have been reported.
  • If you have thoughts of harming yourself or suicide, contact your doctor immediately.
  • Tell your doctor if you experience constipation, especially if you are prone to it, as stomach problems can occur.
  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of alcohol, prescription drug, or illicit drug abuse or dependence, as you may be at higher risk of becoming dependent on this medicine.
  • If you experience seizures, contact your doctor immediately.
  • If you have a serious medical condition like liver or kidney disease, tell your doctor as brain function issues have been reported in some patients.
  • If you have breathing difficulties or shallow breathing, contact your doctor.
  • You may become dependent on this medicine. If you are concerned, talk to your doctor.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Note especially central nervous system adverse effects. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Addiction may develop. (updated 14.4.2025)
