How to Use

Dosage

For adults, the usual starting dose is one 24 mg/26 mg or 49 mg/51 mg tablet twice a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. The target dose is usually 97 mg/103 mg twice a day. The doctor will decide the dose for children.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. You can take it with or without food. Do not split or crush the tablets.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Low blood pressure, which can cause dizziness and lightheadedness.
  • High potassium levels in the blood (seen in blood tests).
  • Reduced kidney function.
  • Cough.
  • Dizziness.
  • Diarrhea.
  • Low red blood cell count (anemia).
  • Fatigue.
  • Headache.
  • Fainting.
  • Weakness.
  • Nausea.
  • Low blood pressure when standing up, causing dizziness or lightheadedness.
  • Stomach problems (e.g., stomach pain, nausea).
  • Spinning sensation (vertigo).
  • Low blood sugar (seen in blood tests).
RARE
  • Allergic reaction with rash and itching.
  • Dizziness when standing up from a sitting position.
  • Low sodium levels in the blood (seen in blood tests).
  • Seeing, hearing, or feeling things that aren't there (hallucinations).
  • Sleep disturbances or changes in sleep patterns.
  • Paranoia.
  • Swelling in the intestines (angioedema), with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
  • Sudden involuntary muscle twitching.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Lumivaxon if you are allergic to sacubitril, valsartan, or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • If you are taking an ACE inhibitor (blood pressure medicine); wait 36 hours after your last dose before starting Lumivaxon.
  • If you have ever had angioedema (rapid swelling in the face, throat, arms, or legs) when taking an ACE inhibitor or similar medicine.
  • If you have diabetes or poor kidney function and are also taking a blood pressure medicine that contains aliskiren.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are more than 3 months pregnant, as it can harm your baby.
