How to Use

Dosage

Use 600 mg of Lugesteron daily.

Method

Insert one capsule deep into the vagina in the morning and one at bedtime. Do not take it by mouth.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 600 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Temporary tiredness
  • Dizziness (may occur 1-3 hours after use)
RARE
  • Itching
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Oily vaginal discharge
  • Severe allergic reaction causing difficulty breathing or dizziness

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to soy, peanuts, progesterone, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not use if you have liver problems, yellow skin or eyes (jaundice), or unexplained vaginal bleeding.
  • Do not use if you have breast cancer, cancer of the reproductive organs, or a rare inherited blood disorder called porphyria.
  • Do not use if you have or have had blood clots in your veins (thrombophlebitis), legs (deep vein thrombosis), lungs (pulmonary embolism), or a brain bleed or stroke.
  • Do not use if you are pregnant but the fetus has died in the womb (missed miscarriage).

  • Lugesteron should only be used during the first three months of pregnancy. It is not a contraceptive.
  • If you have diabetes and use insulin, progesterone treatment can affect your blood sugar levels. Your diabetes medication might need to be adjusted.
  • If you experience vaginal bleeding, tell your doctor. If you suspect you have had a miscarriage, talk to your doctor, as you must stop using Lugesteron.
  • Contact your doctor if you feel unwell a few days after taking the medicine.
