How to Use

Dosage

The usual oral dose is 200–300 mg daily; the vaginal dose is generally 300–600 mg daily.

Method

Oral capsules should be swallowed whole with water, away from meals, usually at bedtime. Vaginal capsules are inserted deep into the vagina by hand.

Important

The maximum oral daily dose is 300 mg, and the maximum vaginal daily dose is 600 mg. A single oral dose should not be more than 200 mg.

  • Temporary fatigue

  • Spotting (small bleeding between periods)
RARE
  • Abdominal pain
  • Fluid retention (swelling)
  • Breast tenderness or soreness
  • Decreased sex drive
  • Headache
  • Digestive problems
  • Abdominal bloating
  • Blood clots (thromboembolism)
  • Vaginal irritation or bleeding

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Lugesteron if you are allergic to progesterone, peanuts, soy, or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not use Lugesteron if you have severe liver disease, cholestatic jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes), unexplained vaginal bleeding, or blood clots.
  • Lugesteron can cause drowsiness and dizziness 1-3 hours after taking it, which may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Be careful.
  • Always inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other medications you are taking, as some medicines can change how Lugesteron works.
