How to Use

Dosage

One gram, which is about half a capful.

Method

Apply to dry scalp and hair on the areas where you have hair loss, twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening). Gently massage it in with your fingertips, then wash your hands right away.

Important

Do not use more than 2 grams (a full capful) per day, and never more than twice a day. Using more will not make hair grow faster or work better.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Swollen hands or feet.
  • Sudden weight gain you cannot explain.
  • Headache.
  • Feeling short of breath or having trouble breathing.
  • Increased hair growth in women, possibly including beard growth or soft, thin hair on the face, body, arms, and legs.
  • Eczema or skin irritation/rash (dermatitis), or acne-like eczema/itching.
RARE
  • Dizziness.
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat.
  • Chest pain.
  • Feeling sick to your stomach (nausea).

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Lotorin if you are allergic to minoxidil or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Lotorin if you have heart disease, such as an irregular heartbeat, chest pain, or problems with your blood circulation.
  • Stop using Lotorin and contact a doctor right away if you experience chest pain, fast heartbeat, weakness, dizziness, sudden weight gain you can't explain, or swollen hands and feet.
  • Do not use Lotorin if your hair loss looks different from a receding hairline or bald spot on the top of your head (e.g., if it's sudden, patchy, or you don't know why you're losing hair).
  • Do not use Lotorin if your scalp is inflamed, infected, irritated, or painful.

  • If Lotorin foam is swallowed by accident, it can cause serious heart problems. Keep this product out of reach of children.
  • If the foam accidentally gets on other parts of your body, rinse the area well with plenty of water to prevent unwanted hair growth.
  • Lotorin should not be used by children and adolescents under 18 years old.
  • Avoid getting Lotorin in your eyes. If it gets into your eyes, rinse them immediately with lots of cool tap water.
  • Lotorin contains ethanol (alcohol), which may cause a burning feeling on broken or irritated skin.
  • Lotorin may cause dizziness or low blood pressure. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, do not drive or operate machinery.
  • Do not use Lotorin at the same time as other medicines applied to the scalp, such as corticosteroids, tretinoin, or ditranol.
