How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose for adults is 50 mg once daily. Your doctor may increase the dose to 100 mg if needed.

Method

Take the tablet with water. Try to take it at the same time each day.

Important

The maximum daily dose is usually 150 mg of losartan once daily.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Losatrix if you are allergic to losartan or any other ingredients in the medicine.
  • Do not use if you have severe liver problems.
  • Do not use if you have been pregnant for more than 3 months (also avoid during early pregnancy).
  • Do not use if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking blood pressure medicine containing aliskiren.
  • If you experience a severe allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, stop taking Losatrix and seek immediate medical help.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category A

Suitable for older adults. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
