How to Use

Dosage

The usual dose for adults is one tablet once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with a glass of water, with or without food.

Important

Do not take more than one tablet per day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Cough, common cold, stuffy nose, sinus infection, sinus discomfort.
  • Diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, indigestion.
  • Muscle pain or cramps, leg pain, back pain.
  • Trouble sleeping, headache, dizziness.
  • Weakness, tiredness, chest pain.
  • High potassium levels in blood (can cause irregular heartbeat), low hemoglobin levels.
  • Changes in kidney function, including kidney failure.
  • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
RARE
  • Anemia, red or brownish spots on skin (sometimes with joint pain, swollen hands/feet, stomach pain), low white blood cells, blood clotting problems, low platelets.
  • Loss of appetite, high uric acid in blood or gout, high blood sugar, abnormal blood electrolyte levels.
  • Anxiety, nervousness, panic disorder, confusion, depression, abnormal dreams, sleep problems, drowsiness, memory problems.
  • Tingling or prickling sensation, limb pain, tremor, migraine, fainting.
  • Blurred vision, burning or stinging in eyes, eye inflammation (conjunctivitis), decreased vision, seeing yellow.
  • Ringing, buzzing, or clicking in ears, vertigo.
  • Low blood pressure (feeling dizzy or weak when standing up), chest pain (angina), irregular heartbeat, stroke, heart attack, palpitations.
  • Blood vessel inflammation (vasculitis), often with rash or bruising.
  • Sore throat, shortness of breath, bronchitis, pneumonia, fluid in lungs (causing breathing difficulties), nosebleed, runny nose, stuffy nose.
  • Constipation, severe constipation, gas, stomach discomfort, stomach cramps, vomiting, dry mouth, salivary gland inflammation, toothache.
  • Jaundice (yellowing of eyes and skin), pancreatitis.
  • Hives, itching, skin inflammation, rash, skin redness, sensitivity to light, Lyell's syndrome (skin looks burned and peels), dry skin, flushing, sweating, hair loss.
  • Pain in arms, shoulders, hips, knees or other joints, joint swelling, stiffness, muscle weakness.
  • Frequent urination, including at night, abnormal kidney function (including kidney inflammation), urinary tract infection, sugar in urine.
  • Decreased sex drive, impotence.
  • Swelling of face, local swelling (edema), fever.
  • Liver inflammation (hepatitis), abnormal liver function tests.
  • Intestinal swelling (angioedema) with symptoms like stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Important Warnings

  • If you get a severe allergic reaction (like swelling of your face, lips, throat, or tongue, which can cause trouble breathing or swallowing), stop taking this medicine and get medical help right away.
  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide medicines, or any other ingredients. Also, do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant, have severe liver or kidney problems (or if your kidneys don't make urine), have gout, or have very abnormal blood salt levels that doctors can't fix.
  • Tell your doctor if you have diabetes and are taking aliskiren, have had skin cancer or notice new skin spots (protect from sun), or experience new vision problems or eye pain. Also tell your doctor about other medicines you take, especially other blood pressure medicines.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Effectiveness is reduced in renal impairment. Consider risk of orthostatic hypotension and hyponatraemia and -kalemia. (updated 19.5.2025)
