How to Use
Dosage
For high blood pressure, the usual starting dose is 50 mg once daily, which may be increased to 100 mg once daily. For heart failure, the starting dose is 12.5 mg once daily, gradually increasing weekly up to 150 mg daily.
Method
Swallow tablets whole with water, with or without food, ideally at the same time each day. The 50 mg tablet can be divided.
Important
The maximum daily dose is 150 mg.

- •Numbness or tingling (paresthesia)
- •Fainting (syncope)
- •Very fast and irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation)

- •Increased liver enzyme levels (ALAT), usually reversible after stopping treatment
- •Decreased platelet count

- •Increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity)
- •Unexplained muscle pain with dark (tea-colored) urine (rhabdomyolysis)

- •General feeling of being unwell
- •Ringing, buzzing, roaring, or clicking in the ears (tinnitus)

Important Warnings
- Do not take if you are allergic to losartan or any other ingredients.
- Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant, and avoid during early pregnancy.
- Do not take if you have severe liver problems.
- Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking a blood pressure lowering medicine containing aliskiren.
- Tell your doctor if you have had swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue (angioedema).

- Tell your doctor if you are taking other blood pressure medicines like ACE inhibitors (e.g., enalapril, lisinopril, ramipril), especially if you have diabetes-related kidney problems, or aliskiren.
- Talk to your doctor if you get stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea after taking Losartan Stada.
