Loceryl

Loceryl is a medicated nail lacquer that contains amorolfine, an antifungal medicine used to treat nail infections caused by a wide range of fungi.

How to Use

Dosage

Apply once or twice a week, or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Your individual dose is stated on your pharmacy label.

Method

First, file down the infected areas of your nail. Clean the nail surface with a cleaning pad. Dip the applicator into the lacquer. Apply the lacquer evenly over the entire infected nail surface. Let the lacquer dry for 3-5 minutes. Clean the applicator. Before each new application, remove old lacquer with a cleaning pad and file the nail if needed.

Important

This medication is typically applied once or twice a week, not daily. Do not apply more often than prescribed to avoid double dosing or overuse.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Nail damage, nail discoloration, brittle or fragile nails
  • Burning sensation on the skin
  • Systemic allergic reaction (severe allergic reaction with symptoms like swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing, and/or severe skin rash)
  • Redness, itching, hives, blisters, allergic skin reactions

Important Warnings

  • Do not apply Loceryl on the skin around your nails.
  • Do not use artificial nails while using Loceryl.
  • Wait at least 10 minutes between applying Loceryl and cosmetic nail polish. Always remove cosmetic nail polish carefully before reapplying Loceryl.
  • Wear protective gloves when using organic solvents (like paint thinner, turpentine, gasoline) to prevent the lacquer from coming off.
  • This medicine contains alcohol and is flammable. Do not use near open flames, lit cigarettes, or heat-producing devices (like hair dryers).

  • Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you experience severe allergic reactions such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, or severe skin rash.
  • Loceryl is not recommended for children, especially infants and toddlers, due to insufficient data on its effects in this age group.
  • Do not use Loceryl during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor says it is clearly necessary.
