Medical nitrous oxide AWO is a gas used for pain relief, to help you relax, or as part of anesthesia during medical procedures.
For pain relief, you'll get 20-60% nitrous oxide mixed with oxygen. For general anesthesia, it's 50-70% nitrous oxide with oxygen, sometimes with other sleep medicines.
This medicine is given as a gas that you breathe in, usually through a mask or a tube. A healthcare professional will always be with you to make sure you get the right amount. If you're using it for pain, you might hold the mask yourself so it falls off if you fall asleep.
You should not use nitrous oxide for more than 12 hours at a time.
