How to Use

Dosage

For adults, typically 3-4 liters per minute with nasal prongs or 5-15 liters per minute with a mask for acute oxygen deficiency. For headache treatment, usually 7-10 liters per minute with a mask for 15 minutes.

Method

Breathed in through nasal prongs or a mask. Can also be given with a breathing machine.

Important

Maximum 15 liters per minute, if your doctor advises. Ask your doctor if you are unsure.

Important Warnings

  • Do not use hyperbaric oxygen therapy if you have an untreated collapsed lung.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a chronic lung disease.
  • Tell your doctor about any other medicines you are taking, especially bleomycin (a cancer drug) or amiodarone (a heart rhythm drug).
  • Never use oil or grease near the oxygen equipment, as there is a risk of explosion.
  • Do not smoke or have open flames in rooms where Lääkehappi AWO is used.

  • Do not use electrical devices during Lääkehappi AWO treatment.
  • Do not place the oxygen mask or nasal prongs directly on textiles during treatment, as oxygen-saturated textiles are highly flammable.
  • Turn off the equipment when it is not in use.
  • In case of fire, turn off the equipment and move gas cylinders to a safe place.
  • Open the cylinder valve slowly and carefully – at least half a turn.
