How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you how much to take. For high blood pressure, the usual starting dose is 10 mg once a day, and the usual ongoing dose is 20 mg once a day.

Method

Take the tablet with at least half a glass of water, ideally at the same time each day. You can take it with or without food. Continue taking it as long as your doctor tells you.

Your doctor will determine your maximum daily dose based on your specific condition and needs.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to lisinopril or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction (angioedema) to an ACE inhibitor, which caused swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat, making it hard to swallow or breathe.
  • Do not take if a family member has had a severe allergic reaction (angioedema) to an ACE inhibitor, or if you have had angioedema for an unknown reason.
  • Do not take if you are more than 3 months pregnant (it's also best to avoid this medicine in early pregnancy).
  • Do not take if you have diabetes or kidney problems and are taking another blood pressure medicine called aliskiren.

  • Do not take if you are taking or have recently taken sacubitril/valsartan (a medicine for long-term heart failure), as it increases the risk of severe swelling (angioedema).

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Reduce the dose in moderately severe renal impairment. Monitor renal function and potassium concentrations during the pharmacotherapy. Avoid concurrent use of NSAIDs. (updated 14.4.2025)
