How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the right dose. It usually starts at 30 mg, but can be 20 mg. Your doctor might increase it later.

Method

Take it once a day in the morning, with or without food. You can swallow the capsule whole with water, or open it and mix the powder with soft food (like yogurt) or liquid (water, orange juice). Eat or drink the mixture right away.

Important

The most you can take in one day is 70 mg.

  • Feeling dizzy
  • Jerking, shaking, or restless movements you can't control (tics)
  • High blood pressure
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Feeling sick to your stomach, throwing up, or loose stools
  • Constipation (hard stools)
  • Sweating more than usual
  • Stomach ache
  • Grinding teeth
RARE
  • Feeling unusually excited, very active, or out of control (mania)
  • Allergic reaction (body overreacts)
  • Fever (high body temperature)
  • Talking too much
  • Feeling down, worried, or gloomy (dysphoria)
  • Feeling unusually happy or high (euphoria)
  • Picking at your skin constantly
  • Unusual sleepiness
  • Itching, skin rash, or raised red itchy bumps (hives)
  • Blurry vision
  • Metallic taste in your mouth or changes in how food tastes
  • Fainting (passing out)
  • Nosebleed

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to lisdexamfetamine or other similar stimulant medicines.
  • Do not take if you are taking or have taken certain depression medicines (MAOIs) in the last two weeks.
  • Tell your doctor if you have heart problems, very high blood pressure, or eye problems like glaucoma.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever misused prescription medicines or illegal drugs.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or have had seizures (fits) or unusual brain scans (EEG).

  • Tell your doctor if you have involuntary body jerks or repeat sounds/words (tics) or other mental health conditions like extreme mood swings, aggression, or seeing/hearing things that aren't real.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine can make you feel dizzy, have trouble focusing, or have blurry vision. Do not drive, ride a bike, or operate machines if you feel this way.
