How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will tell you the right dose. The starting dose is usually 30 mg, but your doctor may start with 20 mg and increase it if needed.

Method

Take the medicine once a day in the morning, with or without food. Swallow the capsule whole with water, or open the capsule and mix its contents with yogurt, water, or orange juice. Eat or drink the mixture immediately.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 70 mg.

  • Unusual drowsiness
  • Itching, rash, or hives
  • Blurred vision
  • Metallic taste or altered taste sensation
  • Fainting
  • Nosebleed

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to this medicine or similar medicines.
  • Do not take if you have severe heart problems, very high blood pressure, or a history of stroke.
  • Tell your doctor if you have mental health problems like mood swings, aggression, or seeing/hearing things that aren't real.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had seizures or epilepsy.
  • This medicine can be misused and lead to dependence. Do not give it to anyone else.

  • Do not use with MAOI inhibitors (for depression) or within two weeks of stopping them.
  • Do not take if you have thyroid problems or high eye pressure (glaucoma).
  • Contact a doctor immediately if you experience a severe allergic reaction (e.g., severe low blood pressure, difficulty breathing), irregular heartbeat, chest pain, seizures, yellowing of skin/eyes (liver damage), or severe skin rash with blisters.
