How to Use

Dosage

The recommended dose for adults is one 600 mg tablet twice a day.

Method

Swallow the tablet whole with water. You can take it before, during, or after a meal. If you are on kidney dialysis, take your dose after the dialysis treatment.

Important

The maximum daily dose is two 600 mg tablets (1200 mg total), taken as one tablet twice a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Fungal infections, especially thrush in the mouth or vagina
  • Headache
  • Metallic taste in mouth
  • Diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting
  • Changes in some blood test results (kidney/liver function, blood sugar)
  • Sleep problems
  • Increased blood pressure
  • Anemia (low red blood cell count)
  • Dizziness
  • Localized or general stomach pain
  • Constipation
  • Indigestion
  • Localized pain
  • Decreased platelet count
RARE
  • Inflammation of the vagina or genital area in women
  • Various sensations, such as tingling or numbness
  • Swelling, soreness, or discoloration of the tongue
  • Dry mouth
  • Increased need to urinate
  • Chills
  • Thirst
  • Increased sweating
  • Low sodium levels in blood (hyponatremia)
  • Kidney failure
  • Abdominal swelling
  • Increased creatinine levels
  • Abdominal pain
  • Changes in heart rate (e.g., faster heartbeat)
  • Decreased red blood cell count
  • Weakness and/or sensory changes
  • Surface discoloration of teeth, which a dentist can remove
  • Hair loss (alopecia)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to linezolid or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you have used MAO inhibitors (for depression or Parkinson's disease) in the last two weeks.
  • Do not take if you are breastfeeding, as it can affect the baby.
  • Combining with certain antidepressants or opioids can lead to a serious condition called serotonin syndrome; tell your doctor about all other medications.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you experience severe skin reactions, swelling (especially face/neck), wheezing, shortness of breath (signs of allergic reaction), purple rash, or peeling skin.

  • Contact your doctor immediately if you notice vision problems, such as blurred vision, changes in color vision, reduced sharpness, or narrowed field of vision.
  • Seek urgent medical attention for severe, bloody, or mucus-filled diarrhea; stop the medicine and do not take anti-diarrhea medication.
  • Tell your doctor if you have repeated nausea or vomiting, stomach pain, or rapid breathing.
  • Report seizures to your doctor.
  • Tell your doctor about unexplained bleeding or bruising, which may indicate changes in blood cells affecting clotting or causing anemia.
  • Inform your doctor if you experience fever, sore throat, mouth sores, or tiredness, which could be signs of changes in blood cell counts affecting your ability to fight infections.
  • Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, weakness, or dark urine immediately, as these can be signs of rhabdomyolysis, a serious condition that can lead to kidney damage.
  • Tell your doctor if you develop pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
  • Report any temporary mini-strokes (TIAs) with symptoms like temporary vision loss, weakness in limbs, slurred speech, or loss of consciousness.
  • Tell your doctor if you experience ringing in the ears (tinnitus).
