How to Use

Dosage

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: Take 1 lozenge every 2 to 3 hours.

Method

Let the lozenge slowly dissolve in your mouth; do not let it dissolve inside your cheek.

Important

Do not take more than 8 lozenges in 24 hours.

Possible Side Effects

  • Burning or itching sensation
  • Angioedema (swelling of face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives, and difficulty breathing - seek immediate medical help)
  • Stinging or burning in the throat
  • Unpleasant taste

Important Warnings

  • Do not take Lidomax if you are allergic to lidocaine, amylmetacresol, 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Children under 12 years old should not use this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have asthma.
  • This medicine can be harmful to your teeth.
  • The numbing ingredients can make you cough or feel like choking when eating. Do not eat or drink hot things right after taking this medicine, as your tongue might be numb and you could bite it or burn yourself.

  • Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days, as it can change the natural balance of germs in your throat.
  • Follow the dose instructions carefully. Taking too much or using it for too long can affect your heart and nerves, potentially causing seizures.
  • Elderly or frail people should talk to their doctor before using this medicine.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have large open sores in your mouth or throat.
  • Do not take this medicine right before eating or drinking.
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine contains terpenes. High doses of terpenes have been linked to neurological problems, like seizures in children.
  • This medicine contains colorings (para-orange and cochineal red) that may cause allergic reactions.
