How to Use

Dosage

One lozenge.

Method

Let it slowly dissolve in your mouth every 2 to 3 hours. Do not let it dissolve against your cheek.

Important

Do not take more than 8 lozenges in 24 hours (or 4 lozenges for children).

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Hypersensitivity reactions (like burning or itching)
  • Swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (angioedema)
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Hives and trouble breathing
  • Burning or stinging in the throat
  • Unpleasant taste in the mouth

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lidocaine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Not for children under 12 years old.
  • Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have asthma.
  • This medicine might be bad for your teeth.
  • The numbing agents in this medicine can cause choking or a numb tongue. Be careful with hot food and drinks, and do not eat or drink right after taking the medicine.

  • Do not use for more than 3 days, as long-term use can upset your throat's natural balance of microbes.
  • Follow the dose instructions carefully; taking too much or using for too long can affect your heart or nervous system and may cause seizures.
  • Elderly or frail people should talk to a doctor before using this medicine.
  • Do not use on large open sores in your mouth or throat.
  • Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • This medicine contains terpenes (from levomenthol). High doses of terpenes have been linked to nervous system problems, like seizures in children.
  • This medicine contains colorants (Para-orange, Cochineal Red A) which may cause allergic reactions.
