How to Use

Dosage

One lozenge.

Method

Allow to slowly dissolve in the mouth every two to three hours.

Important

Maximum 8 lozenges per day.

Possible Side Effects

RARE
  • Hypersensitivity reactions (burning, itching)
  • Severe allergic reactions like swelling of the face, tongue, or throat; difficulty swallowing; hives; and breathing difficulties (angioedema). Seek immediate medical help.
  • Throat stinging, unpleasant taste

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to lidocaine, other amide-type local anesthetics, amylmetacresol, 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years old.
  • This medicine may be harmful to your teeth.
  • The numbing agents in this medicine can cause choking or coughing when eating. Do not eat immediately after taking this medicine.
  • This medicine can numb your tongue and increase the risk of biting it. Be careful with hot food and drinks.

  • Do not use this medicine for more than 3 days as it can disrupt the natural balance of microbes in your throat.
  • Follow the recommended dose. High doses or long-term use can affect the heart or nervous system and cause seizures.
  • Elderly or frail people are more sensitive to side effects; consult a doctor before use.
  • Do not use this medicine if you have large, open wounds in your mouth or throat.
  • Do not take this medicine immediately before eating or drinking.
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy.
  • This medicine is not recommended during breastfeeding.
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma.
  • Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines, especially beta-blockers, cimetidine, other local anesthetics, heart medicines (like mexiletine or procainamide), fluvoxamine (for depression), or antibiotics (like erythromycin or itraconazole).
  • Do not use other oral or throat antiseptic medicines while taking Lidomax.
  • This medicine contains isomalt and maltitol. Do not use if you have rare hereditary conditions like fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrose-isomaltase deficiency.
  • Lidomax contains terpenes. High doses of terpenes have been linked to neurological problems, like seizures, in children.
  • This medicine contains colorants (Para-orange, Cochineal Red A) that may cause allergic reactions.
