Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Nausea

RARE
  • Changes in sensation or muscle weakness (neuropathy)

  • Damage to cranial nerves
  • Drooping eyelid, small pupils, and reduced sweating (Horner's syndrome)
  • Uneven sweating and redness on the upper chest, neck, or face (Harlequin syndrome)
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Double vision
  • Slow or stopped breathing
  • Rash or hives

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lidocaine or other local anesthetics.
  • Tell your doctor if you have epilepsy, kidney or liver disease, muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis), heart problems (like a slow heartbeat), breathing difficulties, are elderly, or have a bleeding disorder.
  • Seek immediate medical help if you have an allergic reaction with symptoms like swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, difficulty breathing, rash, fever, low blood pressure, or shock.
