How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 30 mg once daily, but your doctor might start you on 20 mg. Your doctor will decide the right dose for you.

Method

Take this medicine once a day in the morning, with or without food. You can swallow the capsule whole with water. You can also open the capsule and mix its contents with yogurt, water, or orange juice. Eat or drink the mixture right away.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 70 mg.

  • Decreased appetite
  • Trouble sleeping (insomnia)
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Feeling agitated, nervous, anxious, or irritable
  • Unusual tiredness or restlessness
  • Erectile problems or changes in sex drive
  • Dizziness
  • Uncontrolled movements, tremors, or tics (repeated body jerks or sounds)
  • Mood swings
  • High blood pressure, fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Nausea or diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Weight loss
  • Excessive sweating
  • Stomach pain
  • Teeth grinding
  • Chest pain (may be a sign of heart problems)
RARE
  • Excessive talkativeness
  • Feeling depressed, anxious, down, or uneasy (dysphoria)
  • Unusual feeling of well-being or excitement (euphoria)
  • Compulsive skin picking
  • Unusual sleepiness
  • Itching, rash, or raised red itchy rash (hives)
  • Blurred vision
  • High body temperature (fever)
  • Vomiting
  • Metallic taste in mouth or altered sense of taste (dysgeusia)
  • Fainting
  • Nosebleed
  • Very wide pupils
  • Aggression
  • Poor circulation causing numbness and paleness in fingers and toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)
  • Allergic reaction (hypersensitivity)
  • Seeing, feeling, or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) with sudden blood pressure drop, shortness of breath, and hives/itching
  • Seizures (convulsions)
  • Abnormal heart rhythm, life-threatening irregular heartbeat
  • Allergic liver damage, possibly with yellowing of eyes/skin
  • Swelling of face, tongue, or throat, difficulty swallowing, hives, and breathing problems (angioedema), or severe skin rash (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Shortness of breath or swollen legs (signs of heart disease)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to lisdexamfetamine or any other ingredients in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are currently using or have used MAOI antidepressants (for depression) in the last two weeks.
  • Do not take if you have thyroid problems.
  • Do not take if you feel unusually excited, overactive, or uninhibited (mania).
  • Do not take if you have or have had heart problems, such as a heart attack, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, heart failure, or a congenital heart defect.

  • Do not take if you have high blood pressure or narrowed blood vessels.
  • Do not take if you have increased eye pressure (glaucoma).
  • Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless your doctor specifically tells you to. Tell your doctor if you are planning a pregnancy.
  • This medicine can cause dizziness, blurred vision, or trouble focusing. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these symptoms.
