How to Use

Dosage

The usual starting dose is 30 mg daily, but your doctor might prescribe 20 mg. Your doctor will decide the right dose for you.

Method

Take Lexaliz Adult in the morning, before breakfast or with food. You can swallow the capsule whole with water, or open it and mix the contents with soft food (like yogurt) or liquid (water or orange juice). Consume the mixture immediately.

Important

Do not take more than 70 mg per day.

  • Reduced appetite
  • Trouble sleeping (Insomnia)
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Feeling agitated, nervous, anxious, or irritable
  • Unusual tiredness or restlessness
  • Erection problems or changes in sex drive
  • Dizziness
  • Uncontrolled jerking, shaking, trembling, or unusual activity
  • Repeated jerking movements of any body part, or repeating sounds or words (tics)
  • Mood swings
  • High blood pressure, fast or irregular heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Nausea or diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Weight loss
  • Excessive sweating
  • Stomach ache
  • Teeth grinding
  • Irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Chest pain (could be a sign of heart problems)
RARE
  • Unusual talkativeness
  • Feeling sad, anxious, down, or restless (dysphoria)
  • Feeling unusually well or excited (euphoria)
  • Compulsive skin picking
  • Uncontrolled body jerking or twitching
  • Unusual sleepiness
  • Itching, rash, or raised red itchy rash (hives)
  • Blurred vision
  • High body temperature (fever)
  • Vomiting
  • Metallic taste in mouth or altered sense of taste (dysgeusia)
  • Fainting
  • Nosebleed
  • Seeing, feeling, or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Severe allergic reaction with sudden drop in blood pressure, breathing difficulties, and hives/itching (anaphylactic reaction)
  • Seeing, feeling, or hearing things that are not there, paranoia, and delusions (psychotic episodes)
  • Seizures (convulsions)
  • Abnormal heart rhythm, life-threatening irregular heartbeat (seen on ECG)
  • Allergic liver damage, which may appear as yellowing of the whites of the eyes and/or skin (eosinophilic hepatitis)
  • Swelling of the face, tongue, or throat; difficulty swallowing; hives and breathing difficulties (angioedema) or severe skin rash with or without blisters, or skin irritation, sores or swelling in the mouth, throat, eyes, nose, and genital area (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Shortness of breath or swelling of the legs (signs of heart muscle disease)
  • Excessively dilated pupils
  • Aggression
  • Poor blood circulation causing numbness and paleness in fingers and toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to lisdexamfetamine dimesylate or any other ingredients.
  • Do not use this medicine if you are taking antidepressants called MAOIs, or have taken them in the last two weeks.
  • Tell your doctor if you have or have had heart problems, such as an irregular heartbeat or high blood pressure.
  • Inform your doctor if you have mental health problems, such as mood swings, aggression, or if you see or hear things that are not real.
  • Be careful when driving or operating machinery, as this medicine may cause dizziness or vision problems.
