How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your starting dose. Usually, it's 30 mg, but some people might start with 20 mg. Your doctor may increase your dose later if needed.

Method

Take Lexaliz Adult in the morning, before or with breakfast. You can swallow the capsule whole with water. Or, you can open the capsule and mix its contents with soft food like yogurt, or with water or orange juice. Mix well and consume immediately. Do not save the mixture for later.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 70 mg.

COMMON
  • Decreased appetite
  • Insomnia
  • Dry mouth
  • Headache
  • Agitation, nervousness, anxiety or irritability
  • Unusual tiredness or restlessness
  • Erection problems or changes in sex drive
  • Dizziness
  • Uncontrolled twitching, shaking, tremors or unusual activity
  • Uncontrolled, repeated jerking in any body part or repeating sounds and words (tics)
  • Mood swings
  • High blood pressure
  • Fast or irregular heartbeat (tachycardia)
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Nausea or diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Weight loss
  • Excessive sweating
  • Stomach ache
  • Teeth grinding
  • Irregular heartbeat (palpitations)
  • Chest pain (can be a sign of heart problems)
RARE
  • Unusual talkativeness
  • Feeling depressed, anxious, down, or restless (dysphoria)
  • Unusual feeling of well-being or excitement (euphoria)
  • Compulsive skin picking
  • Uncontrolled body jerking or twitching
  • Unusual sleepiness
  • Itching, rash or red, itchy raised rash (hives)
  • Blurred vision
  • High body temperature (fever)
  • Vomiting
  • Metallic taste or altered taste (dysgeusia)
  • Fainting
  • Nosebleed
  • Very dilated pupils
  • Aggression
  • Poor circulation causing numbness and paleness in fingers and toes (Raynaud's phenomenon)
  • Unusual excitement, hyperactivity or uninhibited behavior (mania)
  • Allergic reaction (hypersensitivity)
  • Seeing, feeling or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations)
  • Severe allergic reaction with sudden drop in blood pressure, difficulty breathing, and hives/itching (anaphylactic reaction)
  • Seeing, feeling or hearing things that are not there, paranoia and delusions (psychotic episodes)
  • Seizures (convulsions)
  • Abnormal heart rhythm, life-threatening irregular heartbeat (seen on ECG)
  • Allergic liver damage, possibly with yellowing of the whites of the eyes and/or skin (eosinophilic hepatitis)
  • Swelling of face, tongue or throat; difficulty swallowing; hives and difficulty breathing (angioedema) or severe skin rash with or without blisters on skin and mucous membranes, or skin irritation, sores or swelling in mouth, throat, eyes, nose and genital area (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)
  • Shortness of breath or swelling of the legs (signs of heart disease)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to lisdexamfetamine or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are using or have used MAOI medicines for depression in the last 14 days.
  • Do not take if you have thyroid problems, or feel unusually excited, overactive, or uninhibited.
  • Do not take if you have or have had heart problems (like a heart attack, irregular heartbeat, or chest pain), very high blood pressure, or increased eye pressure (glaucoma).
  • Tell your doctor if you have misused drugs or medicines in the past, or have kidney problems.

  • Tell your doctor if you have had seizures, or abnormal brain activity readings (EEG).
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or have uncontrolled twitching (tics).
  • Tell your doctor if you or your family have a history of irregular heartbeats or mental health issues like mood swings, aggression, hallucinations, or depression.
  • If you feel your heart pounding or beating irregularly during treatment, tell your doctor right away.
