Levothyroxine Orion is a man-made thyroid hormone used to treat thyroid diseases and problems, working like your body's own hormones.
Your doctor will decide your specific dose; treatment usually starts low and is increased over 2-4 weeks. For infants with congenital hypothyroidism, the recommended starting dose is 10-15 micrograms per kg body weight for the first 3 months.
Take one dose orally in the morning on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before breakfast, preferably with a small amount of water (e.g., half a glass). For infants, crush the tablet, mix with a little water, and give it at least 30 minutes before their first meal.
The maximum daily dose for thyroid cancer treatment is 300 micrograms.
