How to Use
Dosage

Method
This medicine is given as a drip directly into a vein, usually starting with a short fast infusion followed by a slower infusion that can last up to 24 hours.
Important
The infusion is usually given for up to 24 hours.

- •Low potassium in the blood
- •Insomnia
- •Dizziness
- •Atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat where the upper chambers of the heart quiver instead of contracting normally)
- •Increased heart rate
- •Extra heartbeats
- •Heart failure
- •Lack of oxygen to the heart
- •Nausea
- •Constipation
- •Diarrhea
- •Vomiting
- •Low blood count
Important Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to levosimendan or any other ingredients in this medicine.
- Do not use if you have very low blood pressure or a very fast heart rate.
- Do not use if you have severe kidney or liver disease.
- Do not use if you have a heart condition that makes it hard for your heart to fill or empty.
- Do not use if you have a specific type of irregular heartbeat called Torsades de Pointes.

- Tell your doctor if you have low blood count (anemia) and chest pain.
- Tell your doctor if you have an abnormally fast heart rate, irregular heartbeats, atrial fibrillation, or low potassium levels.
- Tell your doctor if you have low blood volume (hypovolemia).
- This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years.
- If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, discuss with your doctor. You should not breastfeed during treatment with this medicine.
