How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will determine your dose based on your condition and how you respond, carefully monitoring your pulse, blood pressure, and heart activity.

Method

This medicine is given as an infusion (drip) into a vein in a hospital, where your condition will be carefully monitored.

Important

Your doctor will decide your maximum dose, and the infusion usually lasts up to 24 hours.

RARE
  • Allergic reaction (rash, itching)
  • Severe irregular heartbeat (ventricular fibrillation)

Important Warnings

  • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to levosimendan or any of its other ingredients.
  • Tell your doctor if your blood pressure is very low or your heart rate is abnormally fast.
  • Tell your doctor if you have severe kidney or liver problems.
  • Tell your doctor if you have a heart condition that makes it hard for your heart to fill or empty.
  • Tell your doctor if you have ever had a heart rhythm problem called Torsades de Pointes.

  • Tell your doctor if you have low potassium in your blood, anemia with chest pain, or an irregular heart rhythm like atrial fibrillation.
  • This medicine is not for children or teenagers under 18 years old.
  • Do not breastfeed while using this medicine. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking other heart medicines given into a vein, as your blood pressure might drop further.
