How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose, which is unique to you and based on how soon your withdrawal symptoms start.

Method

Always take this medicine by mouth; never inject it, as this can cause severe and lasting harm, possibly even death.

Important

Take only the dose your doctor has prescribed, usually once a day; do not take more or less, or more or less often than instructed.

Important Warnings

  • Always follow your doctor's instructions carefully when taking Levopidon. Levopidon is stronger than methadone, so it's very important to take only the dose your doctor prescribed to avoid an overdose.
  • You must only take Levopidon by mouth. Never inject this medicine, as it can cause serious and permanent harm, potentially leading to death.
  • Do not take Levopidon if you are allergic to levomethadone or any other ingredient, if you are taking or have taken MAO inhibitor medicines for depression or Parkinson's disease within the last 2 weeks, if you have severe breathing or lung problems, or if you are dependent on drugs other than opioids.
  • Do not drive or operate tools or machinery while taking Levopidon.
  • Children and adolescents under 18 years of age should not take this medicine.

  • Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children in a safe place at home to prevent accidental ingestion.
  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice during Levopidon treatment, as alcohol can cause severe side effects and grapefruit juice can affect how the medicine works.
  • The risk of becoming dependent on this medicine varies. Tell your doctor if you or anyone in your family has a history of alcohol, prescription drug, or illegal drug abuse or addiction, if you smoke, or if you have a history of mood disorders or other mental health issues.
  • Levopidon can cause breathing problems during sleep, such as pauses in breathing (sleep apnea) or low oxygen levels in the blood. If you or someone else notices these symptoms, contact a doctor.
  • Taking Levopidon with calming medicines like benzodiazepines increases the risk of drowsiness, breathing difficulties, and coma, which can be life-threatening.
