How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose individually, based on when withdrawal symptoms start. It is usually taken once a day.

Method

This medicine is only for oral use (by mouth). Never inject it, as this can cause serious harm or even death.

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to levomethadone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are taking MAO inhibitors (for depression or Parkinson's disease) or have taken them in the last 2 weeks.
  • Do not take if you have severe breathing or lung problems.
  • This medicine can cause dependence and addiction. Always follow your doctor's instructions to avoid overdose.
  • Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Even a small amount can be dangerous and potentially fatal for them.

  • Children and teenagers under 18 years of age should not take this medicine.
  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can cause serious side effects or affect how the medicine works.
  • Tell your doctor if you have asthma attacks, lung disease, kidney or liver problems, low potassium, an underactive thyroid, an enlarged prostate, a head injury, or heart problems.
  • Be careful if you are taking strong painkillers (opioids) or sedatives (like barbiturates and benzodiazepines), as this can increase the risk of serious side effects.
  • If you experience weakness, tiredness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, or low blood pressure, tell your doctor. These could be signs of a serious gland problem where your body doesn't make enough cortisol.
  • This medicine can cause sleep apnea (pauses in breathing during sleep) or low oxygen levels during sleep. If you or someone else notices these symptoms, tell your doctor.
