How to Use

Dosage

Your doctor will decide your dose individually, starting low and gradually increasing it over several weeks until the right maintenance dose is found.

Method

Take Levopidon by mouth only, usually once a day. Never inject this medicine, as it can cause serious harm or even death.

Important

Never take more or less than your doctor has prescribed, and do not take it more or less often than instructed, to avoid overdose.

  • Low blood potassium or magnesium levels

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to levomethadone or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Do not take if you are currently taking or have taken MAO inhibitors (for depression or Parkinson's disease) in the last 2 weeks.
  • Do not take if you have severe breathing or lung problems.
  • Do not take if you are dependent on other non-opioid drugs.
  • Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking Levopidon, as it can cause serious side effects.

  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to be pregnant, or breastfeeding, as Levopidon can affect your baby.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery while taking Levopidon, as it can cause drowsiness and reduce alertness.
  • Talk to your doctor before taking Levopidon if you have asthma attacks, lung disease, breathing difficulties, low potassium, kidney or liver problems, underactive thyroid, enlarged prostate, head injury, stomach pain, or heart rhythm issues.
  • Levopidon can cause sleep-related breathing problems like sleep apnea (pauses in breathing during sleep). Contact your doctor if you or someone else notices these symptoms.
  • Keep this medicine out of sight and reach of children. Even small doses can be dangerous for children.
  • Children and adolescents under 18 years of age should not take this medicine.
