Levonicopto eye drops are an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections on the front surface of the eye in adults and children aged 1 year and older.

How to Use

Dosage

Days 1-2: 1-2 drops into the infected eye(s) every two hours. Days 3-5: 1-2 drops into the infected eye(s).

Method

Tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid to form a pocket, and gently squeeze 1-2 drops into the pocket without touching your eye with the dropper tip.

Important

Days 1-2: Up to 8 times a day. Days 3-5: Up to 4 times a day.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Burning feeling in the eye
  • Blurred vision or eye discharge
RARE
  • Eye irritation or pain
  • Dry or sore eyes
  • Swelling or redness of the conjunctiva (front part of the eye)
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Itchy eyes
  • Sticky eyelids
  • Headache
  • Redness of the skin around the eyes
  • Blocked or runny nose
  • Allergic reactions, such as rash
  • Swelling and narrowing in the throat
  • Breathing difficulties

Important Warnings

  • Do not use if you are allergic to levofloxacin, other quinolone antibiotics, or any other ingredients in this medicine. Stop using immediately if you have an allergic reaction.
  • Contact your doctor immediately if your eye symptoms worsen or do not improve within the treatment period.
  • Do not wear contact lenses if you have an eye infection.
  • Stop using this medicine if you experience pain or swelling in your tendons (signs of tendinitis). This is rare but important.
