How to Use

Dosage

The recommended daily dose is 1000 mg to 3000 mg.

Method

Swallow the tablets whole with water, with or without food. Tablets can be divided.

Important

The maximum daily dose is 3000 mg.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Feeling sleepy or tired.
  • Headache.
  • Feeling dizzy or having balance problems.
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, or diarrhea.
  • Irritability or changes in mood.
  • Sore throat or runny nose (nasopharyngitis).
RARE
  • Severe allergic reactions, such as swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.
  • Thoughts of harming yourself or suicide.
  • Seizures getting worse or more frequent.
  • Severe skin reactions, such as blisters or peeling skin.
  • Sudden worsening of kidney function (e.g., low urine output, tiredness, swelling).

Important Warnings

  • Do not take if you are allergic to levetiracetam or any other ingredient in this medicine.
  • Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, as your dose may need to be adjusted.
  • If you experience symptoms of depression or suicidal thoughts, contact your doctor immediately.
  • This medicine can cause drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.
  • Do not stop taking this medicine suddenly without your doctor's advice, as it may increase the number of seizures.

Use in Elderly Patients

Category C

Suitable for older adults, with specific precautions. Sedative. Reduce the dose already in mild renal impairment. Consider possibility of mental disorders. (updated 6.10.2025)
