How to Use

Dosage

Take one Levesia tablet every day.

Method

Take tablets with or without food, with a little water if needed, at roughly the same time each day. Do not mix tablets: take one pink tablet daily for the first 21 days, then one white tablet daily for the last 7 days.

Important

The maximum daily dose is one tablet.

Possible Side Effects

COMMON
  • Headache (including migraine)
  • Mood changes, depression
  • Changed sex drive
  • Nervousness, feeling unsteady, dizziness
  • Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain
  • Acne
  • Fluid retention in the body
  • Breast pain or tenderness, breast fluid, menstrual pain, heavier or lighter periods, increased vaginal discharge, missed periods
  • Weight changes (increase or decrease)
  • Vaginal inflammation, including yeast infection
RARE
  • Changes in appetite, difficulty processing sugar
  • Stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhea
  • Skin rash, yellowish-brown spots on skin (chloasma), increased body or facial hair, hair loss, hives, painful reddish skin bumps (erythema nodosum), rash with ring-shaped redness (erythema multiforme)
  • Breast swelling
  • Increased blood pressure, changes in blood fat levels
  • Poor tolerance of contact lenses
  • Allergic reactions, including severe ones with breathing difficulties and swelling of the face, tongue, or throat (angioedema)
  • Harmful blood clots in veins or arteries (e.g., in the leg, lung, heart, brain, liver, stomach/intestines, kidneys, or eye)
  • Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • Decreased folic acid levels in the blood
  • Liver cell cancer

Important Warnings

  • Do not use Levesia if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
  • Do not use Levesia if you have or have had a blood clot in your leg (deep vein thrombosis), lung (pulmonary embolism), or any other part of your body.
  • Do not use Levesia if you have had a heart attack or stroke.
  • Do not use Levesia if you have a condition affecting blood clotting.
  • Do not use Levesia if you are having surgery or will be on prolonged bed rest.

  • Do not use Levesia if you smoke, especially if you are over 35.
  • Do not use Levesia if you have Hepatitis C and are taking certain medications for it (e.g., those containing ombitasvir, paritaprevir, ritonavir, dasabuvir, glecaprevir, pibrentasvir, sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, or voxilaprevir).
  • Seek immediate medical help if you notice signs of a blood clot, such as unexplained pain in the chest, stomach, or legs.
  • Levesia does not protect against HIV (AIDS) or other sexually transmitted infections.
